Glastonbury Festival

It’s a proper toe-tapping hoe-down – one of the most unique and relaxed food and music festivals in Britain. The recipe consists of Somerset’s finest cider and cheese makers, mixed with lashings of live music and some weird and wonderful west country folk traditions  under the sunshine.

2016 dates – TBC (estimated last week of June)

Priding itself on being low-budget with a huge fun-factor, Farmfest is a multi-genre music festival, spiced up with Somerset cider, featuring a “hats compulsory” rule as basis for a “best hat” competition.

Three nights of live rock music from headlining and supporting acts. Accommodation at Butlins resort included in the price.

Glastonbury is the “mother” of all festivals – the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world. The fields of Worthy Farm are transformed into a pulsating city of sound, light and extraordinary events, attracting hundreds of thousands of revellers of all ages.

2019 dates – 26th to 30th June

Reputedly one of the friendliest folk festivals in England, the picturesque village of Priddy puts on a lively few days of concerts, ceilidhs, dancing and workshops in fine old English style.

2016 dates – 8th to 10th July

It’s a hard party and action sporting event all in one, with ravers moshing to the music and watching world class skaters, inliners and BMXers high flying in the professional park. Camping available.

Three days of camping, eclectic music, local cider, ale and farm fresh food. According to the organisers this is what you won’t find at this festival: No tribute bands. No X-Factor. No Carling lager. No hipsters. No tossers.

With a strict limit of 5,000 revelers, this festival is designed for lovers of experimental, post rock, progressive and somewhat alternative music, with around 70 bands across four stages. Wash it down with local food, cider and ale.

This eclectic boutique festival has earned a top reputation over the past 10 years or so, enhanced by its setting on the coast and its family friendly atmosphere. Three stages, around 50 live acts, affordable and on site camping.

2016 dates – 26th to 28th August

A one-day Festival with an impressive line-up of around 75 artists and acts across five live stages. A world food market and festival bazaar are the cherries on the top.

2016 dates – 16th July

One of the best in the West, the Newt festival includes its now infamous “Yard of Ale” ritual, along with some excellent bands  and more than 100 beers and ciders available. The festival is organised and run by volunteers in aid of the local primary school.
